What brand to get for cordless drill? Should a feller get a two speed style?

This thing is genius! Spring loaded hammers, rotating gear and latch system. When man needs to create a device to get a job done he can really figure things out.

Work just bought a couple of these things. They are really cool. You almost have to hold one to understand how they work but as you twist your wrist it speeds up or down, twist your wrist the other way and it automatically changes from clockwise to counter clockwise. Pretty cool. :cool:

Ok, does anyone know how to drill a large clean hole through 1.5" thick wood wthout using a hole saw (don't have one and costs $15-20)? I can drill a series of holes in a circle, notch the hole out, then sand the bumbs down, but that's a lot of work. Any other way???
