physical buttons

I saw this post, and it got me thinking about an innovation that would be awesome in the next iPhone would be the addition of knurled physical aluminum buttons sticking out the side of the next iPhone. Maybe a few on each side. One on the left side for volume up/down. One on the lower right side...
