Ok I hate to break this too everyone but this is no real news. They can already do this with "Echelon", and why do you think all the phones are digital and not analog anymore? Also why do you think every phone comes with a built in camera? They can already switch the camera and mic on...

Here is an interesting article about a badge that tracks your actions.  The original place I read it gave the idea a much more sinister, "your boss is spying on you" angle.  Anything of that nature is at least more subtle here...
