Putting together an Opteron rig for the neighbor. DFI mb, Corsair 3500LL, etc. The weekend could get ugly.

Sounds nice. I have been fighting with thoughts of upgrading lately. There is nothing wrong with my system and I have always been an AMD man most of the time. But man the new Conroe systems from Intel are really nice. Nothing can touch them at the moment.

What about gaming benchmarks?

Kills them all, I have even see some new benchmarks against the new qauds that are coming out from AMD and it either outperforms them or keeps right up with them. The chip everyone seems to be buying is the e6600. Mmmm 4mb of cache :drool: Paired with the new Nvidia 8800 series cards, the cpu is still the bottleneck.
