No one wanting to work anymore

I think the 5 year contract he is thinking of is between UPS and Teamsters. Before they have to negotiate again. Not the UPS worker individually. But I can see where that can be confusing.

So just to be clear it looks like it's $170k yearly including wages and benefits, per year.

For the senior drivers, yes. Looks like they have a senorioty scale like some other union companies have. Doesn't appear to me that a first year driver will be seeing that compensation package. I believe that 170 is the very top pay package.

Looks like we are starting to repeat history again, or at least around here. There was a restaurant that was just remodeled and has been reopened for only two weeks. They are now closed again since they can't find any workers. Also, I just called two places looking for some pricing on materials and they don't have any at the moment since they don't have enough workers to create it. Also, another company I spoke to this morning said they had a bunch of employees leave last week to head to the oil fields in ND. I found that interesting, oil must be heading in that direction if workers are headed there.

Did we ever really come out of it? Seems like a lot of places are still looking for employees.

Times almost up.

LOL HAHA LOOOOOLLLL

Can't wait for those $15 happy meals. Increasng the pay for low skilled jobs will not improve their work ethic or improve their quality of work. It's not hard to understand how it works. Want more money becuase things are too expensive, get more money, things become even more expensive and repeat.

You get it @C Pav , everything rolls downhill. Everything has a balance, for some reason people don't seem to understand that anymore.

I will add I get it, living, cost of living, is tough and I want everyone to not have to live a crap life. Here is the thing though. First it's up to individuals to not want to be a crappy person. I don't care how bad a hand you were dealt. There is no oppression when you can easily choose to be a decent person. Only thing and person oppressing you is yourself. As for change, how about instead of passing laws to increase minimum wage they pass laws to stop profit mongering by the rich?

Medical literature supports the notion that 80% of diseases comes from diet... good riddance I say, it wouldn't hurt to go away in the long run.
But society couldn't stand it even if healthier.
