I don't know that I can see Ruby replacing C++ anytime soon.  It has been getting more and more popular lately though.  I haven't really tried to do much with it myself, but I've seen a lot of people raving over writing web apps with it.

Ya i guess i should have rephrased my post. I actually meant the popularity on the internet about it. I keep seeing more and more guys talking about how great it is. Corey your a programmer get on it!

I ran across this a couple months ago.  It's a hands on tutorial for Ruby.  I know when I first found it there seemed to be some issues with it, but looking at it now it seems to work quite a bit better.  Haven't went through the whole thing to know if it is really of any use, but it will give you an idea what Ruby is like.  Pretty neat if you have some time to kill.  I doubt it gets into the whole "Ruby on Rails" thing though
