M1A anyone?

Great stuff @ryanator. I looked at an AK today. They have defiantly proven themselves over time.
You only want an Eastern block made AK (Russian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Polish, Yugo), they do it right and use forged steel, not cast.  It's a common knowledge in the smaller AK market around here.  All American made ones have failed badly with cast parts breaking apart in key high stress areas.Interestingly, some people complained that the M1A has used cast metals for some parts in the past years which can potentially be a weakness long term.  M1A's are also not good in sand or mud tests, they seem to fail pretty good, but then again you have to ask what you are buying it for.  Is it for a nice Sunday plinking, show piece, or potential survival rifle.
