WayneKerr
Ramblings based on 1 cup of coffee: I don't think we'll "go to war" next. I think we will be brought into it supporting an ally. I think it will happen in several places at once. North v S. Korea, China advancing against Japan and/or Taiwan. Russia against the Ukraine is another possibility, Russia in Cuba seems to be a bit of a novelty, but remember its only 90 miles away from Florida. I think our capacity for accepting a war overseas is exhausted.
ryanator
So basically WW3, which was what I'm going with on this.
nodle
I think @WayneKerr is right. We will get into it with some country and I think their allies will help them so we will be involved in more that one at a time I could see all 4 helping each other. WayneKerr
So basically WW3, which was what I'm going with on this. I concur.I'm not happy about it, but I think its the way of things. I'm sure will continue our routine clandestine 3-letter organization operations. But the next war we are IN, will be because an ally is engaged. Hopefully diplomacy should sustain our allies and prevent them from engaging. I'd like to be more educated on what the treaties state. I don't thinks will fall apart in an orderly fashion though. I think those that wish us harm will continue to stress our allies and make us or resources defending/supporting them. I think its just as likely that we fight over fresh water as it is we continue to fight over oil. *shrug* It is a shame we don't use our resources on more beneficial things. We'll won't get off this rock before the solar heat death of the universe at this rate.

nodle
Russian Bombers Threaten U.S. Air Space Near Alaska Four Russian bombers entered the U.S. Air Defense Zone near Alaska on Monday, senior defense officials told NBC News on Thursday.U.S. fighter jets from Alaska responded to shadow the Russian craft, which were Tupolev-95 "Bear" four-engine turboprop bombers, the officials said. The four bombers split into two separate groups of twos: One group remained in the vicinity of Alaska, the other headed south off the northern coast of California, the officials said. The Air Defense Zone is the area around the United States and Canada wherein aircraft are required to identify themselves.

nodle
I wonder how many fighters we sent? I also wonder what they were doing on way to N California? No clue I think it's pretty common though. Lots of time each country "tests" each other defenses.
C Pav
I don't know why we spend so much time going to war and no time trying to make more allies. We need to become friends with Russia, Japan, China and other countries that are becoming more powerful. The only enemies should be true terrorists and those that commit terrible crimes. nodle
I also heard Iran is looking to get into this now. So here we have tensions with Russia, and now Iran may get involved with the whole Iraq thing again, plus we mut not forget about North Korea, or and then there is China causing trouble with Japan's islands again. Get ready for the stretched-to-thin war.

nodle
Things are getting pretty bad over there. I also read that North Korea now has cruise missiles that they suspect were purchased from Russia.
ryanator
All the U.S.has been doing is stirring up the hornet's nest through their "strategic" plans. Take Iraq, it seemed like a great humane thing to do, but now the insurgents are rising stronger than before. I say leave enough alone, or do a total extermination (not that I would like to see this as it would lead to many innocent deaths). Take diseases in the body, when you take care of something, you irradiate it, otherwise it comes back more resistant and stronger than before leading to a toxic environment. nodle
Well according to the new the Obama administration has knows about what was going to happen for sometime now, and failed to act on it. Guess they knew 2 months back. He seems real lazy on doing anything. Like @O-Tron said he doesn't want to do anything and just serve out his time as quite as possible now. But we have alot of oil companies over there that have invested alot of money in people in places of power, so we are going to have to act sooner of later. I'm just sick of all this BS affecting our oil prices here.
jmanz
I'll take him any day over Obama. I didn't notice this quote until today. They are both similar in ways actually. Both are doing a good job of holding their countrymen down through ridiculous laws that they make up or overrule whenever they see fit. I'm fairly certain you wouldn't want to live over there and sadly we are turning into their clone slowly but surely.
