Sunglass contacts

We need to invent sunglass contacts or contacts that change in the sun like those glasses.

Do you think you would still pass off as being human when people walking by notice that your eyes are completely black on white? Although nowadays, people are into looking like weirdos with elongated ears and fang implants.

I kinda like the idea. I just wonder why it hasn't been done. I guess the cost of the coating I'm sure.

Coming back to visit this idea I think it is do-able. Can't they just coat them with that "transitions" stuff? I mean it's based off a UV coating. So basically they just have to coat the contact lens with the UV coating. I think it's probably just not cost-effective. It would look strange walking in a place with only dark pupils though.

I'd be interested in them, but then again I should just get glasses that change, or start wearing my contacts again so I could actually wear sunglasses.

Anyway, back to the contacts, the transitions lenses have gotten to where they change fairly quickly, though over time they may not be so great. You might look a little odd outside, but once indoors they would change pretty quickly. As for time, make them in 2 week disposables and you wouldn't have to worry about the lens change time slowing, though getting it cost effective is probably the trick, like nodle said.
