Forty years, wild to think about. That soundtrack absolutely rips, "The Touch" and Vince DiCola's score still hit hard. And it was a gutsy move killing off Optimus in the first act, traumatized a whole generation of kids but gave it real weight. Unicron with Orson Welles voicing him is still one of the great sci-fi villains. Holds up way better than it has any right to.
