They look semi translucent so I'm guessing the others might look a little goofy with a black iPod in themNo the black is solid, I have seen some of the other colors and they don't look as good. I can take pics of mine later if you want to see it with it on. It has total protection, the only exposed part is the audio jack, which is usually filled with headphones or other device. You need to get some sort of protection for it. The new Ipos scratch very easy. Even with it being black. Plus the Iskin is the best out for it right now. It's a little spendy for the case but well worth it.
It looks like my twin! I enjoy mine, I take it almost every day for the drive into work and back home. So far I don't have really any complaints about it. Itunes isn't my favorite but it works. The videos look excellent on it though. My wife has a shuffle and it works nice also. One thing Apple has gotten right is the Ipod. Combined with Itunes, almost anyone can figure out how to transfer music etc. I think you will find the Iskin a good invest ment, it is by far the best one out on the market, plus I personally like the feel with it on. It gives it a little more thickness.
