What Did You Buy Recently? New Gadgets, Tech & Other Purchases

This sounds more like an argument for why you would need help, not against it. 15,000+ doing it doesn't make it sane. Check yourself into the local WOW-caholics anonymous rehabilitation clinic.

I'm sorry Nodle, but I agree with ndboarder regarding the WOW splurging.

You won't buy games worth hours of fun for $60, but you'll spend $25 on a virtual pet for your guy to ride around on.... :confuse:
Because that $25 pet doesn't get put on the shelf like where game does when it's over. WoW never has an ending.

A pant load of cat6, keystone jacks, wall plates. A gigabit switch and some gigabit adapters. I'm holding off on the gigabit router until there are some more consistent ratings. I'm probably over analyzing the reviews, but there hasn't been the consistency I'd like to see from the reviews. Also the ASUS needs a firmware update....wait now I'm starting to vent.

Oh, got a bluetooth adapter to control the wii mote on my PC.

Picked this up at B&N in town last Friday when they got it in. The release date was 6/10, but apparently they shipped early. Anyway, its fricken awesome. I loved my 1st Edition Nook and will keep it as now there is no longer contention if more than one person wants to read at the same time. The improvements to the new touch version make picking one of these up a no-brainer for the extra $20 or so over the original. Navigation is much improved with the touch UI and the whole thing is smaller, lighter and a little more comfortable in the hand. Battery life is also excellent. B&N claims up to 2 months on a charge, but that's with 30 minutes of reading a day. So far I've read quite a bit and am still over 50% battery after 4 days. They did remove a few thigns from the first edition. No more audio jack, so can't listen to MP3s while reading without a separate MP3 player, but not a feature I ever used. If I read, I just want to read, don't need background distraction noise. Also, no games on it (chess and sudoku on 1st edition, but pain to use anyway). The games is only slightly disappointing, never really used them on the 1st edition, they'd be better on this one, but I have plenty of other devices for gaming, this only needs to be a reader. Also they removed the web browser, though it will display a web browser only when needed for authenticating on a wi-fi network.

If you want an e-reader this is the one to get. Also, I've seen that many Nook owners are using library cards of their own or friends & family to get unlimited ebooks through libraries. The Free Library of Philadelphia is a popular one as you don't have to live in Philly to get a membership and they have a 2000+ ebook selection. It seems they have increased the cost for out-of-state residents though. Forums I had seen mention this were around $15 a year and it looks like they are now at $35

The old guy actually looks cooler and is not as crazy. Just look at that hat! And the beard?!

The glasses look like the same pair of Oakleys I have in my car. Probably a bit different since mine are quite a few years old at this point though. I assume the F.E.A.R collection includes the latest one as well? May pick up the latest for Xbox eventually...

No, the FEAR collection included everything but the new FEAR 3. It has FEAR1, 2 and all the expansions. For $9.99 it was a great deal.
