What Did You Buy Recently? New Gadgets, Tech & Other Purchases

I like the bezel. We had our LED Tv replaced after having it less than a year. The change in bezel size between the two is quite noticeable. ...But that is thin!!! I can't help noticing...or not noticing... how many D's does your new TV have? 2 or 3?

Well, it does have 3 of them, active shutter glasses required. Have been wanting to put a TV upstairs (other than the bedroom) and figured I'd get a larger one for downstairs and move my 42" Pioneer Pro-940D up. Anyway, have been very impressed with our 37" Samsung LED so was looking for a good 55" Samsung, and figured may as well go with something that has 3D. It came with 4 pairs of glasses and a crazy remote that looks normal, but the other side is a QWERTY keypad for the Smart Apps and such. So far I'm impressed with the television, though at 55" and LED there is noticeable whitewash/brightness from backlighting that I'm not used to after having the 42" plasma for the past 4 years or so.Watched one 3D movie and a few previews. The newer rechargable glasses are pretty comfortable and didn't bug me. Saw a few pop ou tof the TV effects, but really most 3D is about depth, so it's more like you are looking through a window at the action than staring at a flat screen. I also tried Black Ops in 3D. It's about the same as watching a film, but I don't know if this is something I would want to do for hours on end or not.

I suspect that within 3-4 years there will be some 3D breakthroughs/changes and if it is something we end up using a lot then I might look to upgrade. For now, mostly it was just a good TV, but figured if I were going to spend the money I might as well get something that supported 3d.

Edit: BTW, picked this up last Thursday, but spent enough time harassing nodle yesterday that he didn't believe me when I broke down and posted about the purchase.

 
Bought a porter-cable router. For wood you know... I did see a work around for that asus router that fixes one of the password issues, but I haven't made the purchase.
