I never thought about this before, but why is it so common nowadays to go through a drive-thru line, pull around, wait for your order, and then have to have it brought out to you? This never used to happen, say, ten years ago, but it's basically commonplace these days. It's not like I am ordering tons of food either, just a normal meal. As soon as you pay and pull up to the pickup window, "I'm sorry, can you pull around the side, or pull into spot #2?" It just never fails. What is the reasoning? I feel like it falls in line with the self-checkout lines. Let's hire fewer people, and the customer can just pull around and wait. It seems like all fast food places do it these days, except for places like Chick-fil-A, where they have people walk and get ahead of the order so when you get to the window it's ready to go. Anyone else notice this anymore as well?
