From what I've read and heard right after the split happened, is that Illya dude mentioned above is a good guy who actually cares about the safety aspect. So it was either a riff about that aspect or a money/power dispute between the team members. Or perhaps both.
Don't you wonder what happened? I can't really think of any other conclusion. I mean you have an awesome job, everything is normal, you're making progression on your Ai code, then one day something happens that makes you want to leave the company. Maybe the dude has morals and he knew the Alphabet companies were trying to backdoor, control, the Ai?
Well like I said, it's either safety, power, or something along those lines. None of those guys are talking about it, yet anyways. Ilya is a very private person from the sounds of it and doesn't do want to talk about it.

So many fake AI images of places now too. Like scenic locations enhanced by AI to the high heavens.
The ones that have the fortitude to hang on during the declines especially. It's hard to do with some of those small companies and volatile stocks but those who do get rewarded.
I don't want to go back and look where I had money dumped into Nvidia, Lockheed, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm etc.
