AI future has begun - OpenAI and others.

AI will be the end of computer tech companies. The hardware side has been pretty much obliterated, but now with AI it will be the killing blow. Wife's work Windows 11 laptop had a problem the other day. I knew it was a registry entry that I needed to add, but since I have been out of the industry for a while now, I just googled it; yup, there it was, an entire walkthrough with copy/paste commands. I couldn't help but to think of how nice this would have been back in my IT days. Yup, IT tech guys' days are numbered.

Has there been much of an industry for it the last few years? People usually just junk stuff and buy new.
 
I have been talking with a car dealership lately, and I know the guy is using an AI chatbot to respond via text messages. No one talks this way and uses exclamation points on every sentence they write. Anyway, it was a turn-off, and I didn't want to deal with him anymore.
 
I am starting to see candidates advertisements and they are using data centers and Ai as key running points talking about how tired they are of their electric bills and water bills raising because of these and making promises to stop them.

There is a big controversy brewing in a big city in our state. They are refusing to allow a data center to hook up the the city water. So they plan on drilling their own wells that will penatrate the aquifer that provides all the water. They said they plan on drilling deeper and going horizontal if needed to get to it. Basically since they aren’t allowed on the current system they will bore into it and below it and just take it all anyways. The same aquifer also provides water to the local irrigation ditches. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. They will eventually start getting more and more aggressive when people try to stop them. I’m just waiting to the government to step in and just forces it to happen.

Resistance will be futile. Data centers are going to happen whether people want them or not. In the end, communities will be bought off and the data centers will be built. Way too much money behind it.
