What's new

All things World of Warcraft

I’m kinda mad at Warcraft right now. There was supposed to be a pirate themed patch hitting yesterday, which it did. But instead it was a separate new game that is a Fortnight clone using the WoW world and characters. It seems like the WoW community members are trying to pump it up. I’m ok with them trying something new, but they need to totally separate it like they did their mobile game.

I think they are divesting too much energy into updating so many multiple games. It's a large company now, but they are over-estimating the playerbase's ability to want to stick with one thing, even if it is updated a lot.

WoW classic was a good move though... I really really want to do hardcore classic but I have so much to do and not a lot of friends who are into games. That's life I guess :D

You hit the nail on the head @jthock . They are becoming way to spread out, which results in less focus on one game and this applies to customer service as well. WoW was always their bread and butter, but when Activision bought them, they brought their catalog of games over as well, and less focus is starting to go into the game, and the customers notice it.

Crazy.

They released Remix: Mists of Pandaria where you can make a Timerunner character. The leveling is faster and you have extra gems and upgrades to your items that give you new abilities to make it faster. The reward currency is Bronze and you can use it to buy all the old xmogs from MoP and the mounts that are hard to get. You can even purchase the Dark Shaman xmog, a rare drop from the Dark Shamans in Siege of Orgrimmar raid.

A lot of the stuff was way too time consuming to grind, so I found this to be really cool. I already got a character to 25 and finished the necessary locks in Valley of the Four Winds to unlock a cosmetic item. It took me about 3-4 hours overall of straight playing. Got the chicken backpack, a quilen mount that I was never able to get, and an xmog piece for rogue/dh/monk that unlocks for all of your characters. It only lasts for another month and a half !

you also get a mount for reaching level 20 on a Timerunner character; I am also gonna go for the full cloak upgrade to get the toy cloak replica effect for 4200 threads; I already have around 700 / 4200

for the chicken cosmetic:

Did dungeon and galleon world event, 3 of the rare creatuers, and exploration achievement

I did the time runner thing about the third day when it came out. I was going to refuse to do it since I hated the pirate thing. I did find it pretty fun, and it was fast to level a character and I set out to get all the unique things available (transmogs, toys, & mounts). After that though I stopped. I wasn't interested in doing the mythic raid stuff.

finally getting to the point in my soul where I can just play the game for what it is and spend some time once in a while grinding mounts or reputation

The hours I put in say I'm a fanatic but it's just a good hobby for me now. Will enjoy the new expansion

I haven't been playing WoW in weeks, their new patch hit yesterday (even though was down all day long). I played some this morning and it was pretty fun. Tons of new changes.

Wow early release for the new expansion hits today. See you bitches in 6 months.

I bought one of the wotlk and bc decks of these classic cards as a memento, thinking about keeping them sealed and see how much they're worth in 50 years or something. Need to get the classic one now to complete the set

Got the expansion too, four (4) hours and counting! Made my specialty steak and mac 'n cheese with horse radish-seasoned sirloin and classic mac 'n cheese with a red bull :p Got all my chores done for the day, also bought a few maple donuts and will have one or two with coffee later. I have been riding my bike around 20 miles every single day this summer and taking the day off today, so I am ready to go

I'm pretty excited as well @jthock . I actually didn't even know about the early release until yesterday. I think it is wise of them, hopefully it won't put such a strain on their servers when the official day comes. I'm going to stay up late as well.
