This whole work situation is really getting me down. At night I have a heard time going to sleep because I dread having to wake up in the morning to go there. I should be thankful and one one hand I am, but I don't think the money is worth it. I hate the way this job makes me feel. I feel imprisoned here everyday. I hate the way they do business and I try to separate myself from it. It goes against all my principles of being fair and honest. I try to separate myself from it so I can always still walk away from here feeling good in the end. I want to try to like it. I enjoy my work part at least. But i feel so dirty working here. I don't fit in. I need a change real bad.
Personally, I would probably laugh a bit, and depending on my mood I might look at the rest of the resume. I'd probably only come back to it if no other resumes in a stack were standing out though.I guess specifically, would I hire them, sure, if their resume was better than others. If I were reading them though, there's a fair chance I wouldn't actually read the resume to get to the point of hiring though, if other applicants wrote a professional letter and were qualified for the position.
Completely depends who does it, but in applying for professional positions, I would guess more times than not this strategy would hurt more than help.
Well I blew up at work today again. We had alot of work come in the last few days and the other coworker wasn't helping me. So I thought maybe they were just busy. Well today we have alot more work and the other coworker wants to help because he is new. She says no we are not allowed to do it anymore he will be doing it all now. I was like wait what? So I went and asked my boss and hes like "ya you will be doing it all now". I was like no way that I am. If that is the way it's going to be I will be letting you know I'll be looking for work else where then you will have no one. I was hot. They called me in and talked to me after lunch and decided to keep things the way they are. I think they realized their mistake.
Darn right they realized their mistake. The one thing they aren't going to realize is their mistake for poor management. They are also very poor at communications it seems from what all I heard here, and don't know how to deal with what they have going on, so they try to manage on the fly. They just tell one person one thing, but don't let the other know and think it will work.
Still though if anything this was a real eye opener for me. I know realize how this job really is and even though I keep telling myself it will get better it seems to be going in an opposite state. Once we get back from vacation some serious decisions are going to be made. I could always feel this coming from a long ways off. Either I will be dropping off tons of resumes or moving out of the area.
