I actually started playing this on PC late last week.  I had been beta testing a game that was fairly similar, but don't foresee that it will ever see the light of day now - so I was looking for another little PC time wasting game that I could play off and on from the couch to fill the time between training armies for Age of Empires: Castle Siege (similar to Clash of Clans I'm told)
 
No I gave it a try when it released but I don't like those card type games much. Too dumb it figure it out.

I am surprised it seems right up your alley. You can play quick matches so it doesn't take long.

 
I spent probably close to a thousand dollars since I started playing. Just saying.

I removed most of my xbox friends because I was trying anything to solve my persistent connection issues. It's so bad I can't load a Web page if it's raining/snowing

 
In my experience thus far - building a deck and such is the strategy portion, but a lot of the wins seem to come down to luck.  Daily challenges like "Win 3 games with Druid" take a bit, but I did one last night with a character I'd never played before.  Won 3 of 4 matches and mostly it comes down to luck of the draw with a small amount of strategy.

Plus the new Deck recipes seem to help a person build the most popular decks, if they happen to have the right cards for them.

You're totally right btw, it's mostly about determining which decks are strongest in the current meta (and that changes based on the rank you are playing at - if you are playing ranked). For instance, everyone plays fast aggro decks at higher ranks to get down to rank 10 or so then they switch to more complex control/mid-range variant decks, but some aggro decks go all the way through to Legend.I would strongly recommend getting your wins in ranked though, as your wins count towards a 500 win gold portrait. You might feel bad later for wasting time on casual

Oh also I can do mobile hotspot to play which causes DNS issues on my xbox but is fine for laptop

I've been using my phone alot to play it on and it works quite well. You can just sit and play a simple match real easy. The best part is opening a new card pack and seeing what you will get.

well, I signed up as ndboarder.  IN the game if I look at my empty friends list I see a #1102 after it, so maybe they tagged some garbage on it like bastards

 
Played a totally unfair game this morning. I had this guy down to 3 life and I was at full 30, then he whips out a legendary card and restores his life back to full health. Then he plays 3 more legendary cards. Kinda unfair to a guy that doesn't even have one.
 
^ Reno Jackson is mean. Right now is about the part where you realize that there's an algorithm that forces you to a 50/50 W/L ratio for Bliz$.
