playin hearthstone new expansion, but not buying any cards, just fiddling around with decks
been playing a few games of halo infinite lately, mostly because i bought a few season passes a while back. countstrike 2 on the odd days and I loaded up modern warfare to see if I can try warzone again bc it's on battlenet launcher
tribes ascend hi-rez gave license to some guy in their studio and he made an ok but half-assed and not finished version of tribes called tribes 3 rivals and it sucks. I paid for it because I got into early access though and I guess it was a little bit fun at least. not worth buying though, not near enough content or playerbase. I still post on an old tribes forum from time to time but there's nothing left of it
tribalwar.com/forums used to be one of the biggest forums on the internet but now it is kind of a wasteland. I have made some acquaintences through the game talking about music and stuff over the years, though, so sometimes it can be entertaining. they passed over admin like 3 or 4 times now so yeah.. not much left of it. my point was, though, that I played before skiing came out in Tribes as a bug. You couldn't slide down mountains in the original game. you had to walk from one base to the other and the only freedom of movement was in jetpacking on top of obstacles -- you had to repair your base to get flying vehicles and also had to watch out for rocket turrets that would take you out automatically.
the new tribes games aren't even close to the old one, and when i say "skiing ruined tribes" people think i'm joking lmao...
the old one was really innovative, set in a space age, and had tons of unique sound and environment detail for its time. things were awesome back then as far as games go. the quality of the voice acting when it came out was huge, too. felt like a pre-built lived in environment - i remember when my dad had to have an intervention with me in high school so that i wouldn't play 8 hours a day in his basement and take up the phone line LOL not even kidding
time goes by fast man-- we had a bit of a rough upbringing but we also had some good moments in there, too. can't really bring the past back no matter how bad you wish ! the 90s had the balance just right, and when the internet came out, introverts and people with other hobbies had such a great place to go to. now I don't even know what it is ... rambling i guess
i'm planning on finishing armored core though, i bought it because fromsoft made it and it is pretty good. not as hyped as it was but it is still a decent game. that's it !!
(fun fact: this particular sound byte was used in a tribes speech pack in the late 90s/early 00s to replace the base sound script, and people who had the same downloaded files could use the in-game chat to use it while playing the game)
