I was thinking about this today when I was walking. What are some things from your childhood that you no longer see?

  • White dog poop
  • Kids riding bikes everywhere
  • No more worms on sidewalks and roads after it rains
  • Owl puke on the ground in the mornings
  • More bees and butterflies than you see these days

No idea what you are talking about regarding the dogs and owls lol. Tons of kids on bikes and scooters here and we've discussed the abundance of worms here too.

Either that or the dog crap was sitting outside for 5 months.

Interesting, so basically dogs were being feed better back in the 70s and 80s.

What Caused the White Poop?
  • High Calcium/Bone Meal: Prior to the 1990s, commercial dog food often contained high amounts of meat and bone meal fillers, which are rich in calcium.

Or unhealthy dogs:

White dog poop is generally not considered healthy if it is fresh, as it often indicates a diet too high in calcium or underlying digestive issues like liver or pancreatic problems. Also possible parasites or fungal issues. However, old, dry, and chalky white poop on the lawn is normal, caused by mineral oxidation and sun exposure over time.
