Reposting this if I didn't already.

I have some experience with people experimenting with programming online, and witnessed light-weight use of this through, Twitch, although I haven't browsed it in some years.

I also began studying healthcare information technology & professional medical coding, and the ethical implications & problems broke my mind for a short time. I realized I don't really like the use of EHRs (electronic health records), and am versed in the methods of medical fraud reporting and auditing, and medical fraud in the US is and will be a huge issue. I am not "jumping ship", I am just realizing that my personal abilities might be of better use in human interactions.

I'm a little glad I didn't jump in (with AI, chatbots, LLM, etc), as soon as I could, and instead have taken time to reflect & deal with personal issues. Differentiating between who knows what vs who's doing what and why is a security nightmare by default, and IMO, is making the US into a "boiling frogs" scenario, not safer.

Again, I have started to believe it's more important to be a "person on the street" and involved with the daily risks of others, than to try to assess life through a tainted magnifying glass at home. In other words, I would sacrifice my knowledge & money to make life more old-fashioned and authentic even just for others, but I'm just one guy.

I just had an interesting conversation with one of our metal suppliers. Not really about the increasing cost of metal, or how they are now charging extra for deliveries due to fuel, but the availability of the metal itself. She said all the metal is being bought up years in advance for all the data centers and for military weapons and equipment building.
