What's new

Apple products and their iOS

Now this I could see catching on. Why? Because it’s something someone could use everyday. I think they are limited though with what they can do with it. I could see heart rate monitor, medical monitoring. Text message buzz maybe?

Interesting, didn't see this. Something like Oura Ring? I do feel that they have so much more to do in the health field...their eventual blood pressure monitor would be massive. Been saying that for years now.

I wonder how secure iMessage is anyways. I don't think there is any end-to-end encryption, I think that is why third-party messaging apps became big because they offered this. Maybe Apple has gotten better though?

They must have something good because you would think you would hear about hacks all the time otherwise.

I found the following:

Apple iMessage uses end-to-end encryption to secure your messages, ensuring that only you and the recipient can read them. The encryption is based on the Signal protocol, which is widely regarded as one of the most secure messaging protocols available. It uses a combination of AES-256, RSA-2048, and ECDSA-256 to encrypt your messages, photos, and videos.
In addition to this, Apple has recently announced a new encryption standard for iMessage, called PQ3 (post-quantum encryption). This new standard is even stronger than the previous one and is designed to withstand attacks from quantum computers.
So, in short, Apple iMessage uses a combination of the Signal protocol and post-quantum encryption to keep your messages secure.

Maybe, for standard users. But I know a guy in intelligence that won't use it for messages, so it might not be too great.

Looks like just 256bit encryption (not that is bad).

I know Apple is hyping up their Ai, but I am sure all it is Siri incorporated with Ai.

Seems to be the popular thought right now. A lot of people in the big cities would love to say "Hey Siri book me reservations at such and such restaurant for 8pm tonight." That's probably the first step with it that people would be happy with from what I hear.

With a lump sum of $20k considering stock splits and reinvested dividends, that is probably accurate yes. The compound effect is massive over the years. (especially early when they are growing north of 40% every year.)

"Over the past 20 years, Apple shares have generated a total return of roughly 50,720% compared to a 318% total return for the S&P 500 during that stretch. Those gains translate to a 36.6% compound annual growth rate for Apple compared to a 7.4% CAGR for the S&P 500 in that time."
