Inflation & the upcoming recession

You know I was sitting here thinking. There have been so many Fluxoid members, who have really been right about their predictions over the years. I like to go back to the old threads and read members' posts and see how eerily accurate that they were.

This is something that we should talk about next, the incoming layoffs. I know around here most of the business in town have been cutting their hours, instead of opening at 7 one place is now opening at 8 and instead of staying opening till 10, closing at 9. We had this discussion at work yesterday. Only place went from 9 at night to close to 7 now, to cut costs. You will start seeing this everywhere. It’s a strange world, places around here hiring left and right, but at the same time cutting hours. Makes no sense.

It's an odd time because there are millions and millions of jobs available...odd to have a recession in that environment. But yes demand destruction that the fed is striving for will result in companies cutting back.

Any bets on what the Feds will raise the interest rates by?  Will it be .5% as many were expecting, .75%, or maybe more?

[/QUOTE]I say .75

Ufffftaaaa. I guess I have been out of the loop. I did see Russia and China and some other countries working together to create a new currency to destroy the U.S. Dollar.
