Inflation & the upcoming recession

My personal little rant this morning. Things are starting to get noticeably expensive. Yes, things are going up, but within the last week looking online things are really going up. Things that used to cost $99 on Amazon just back in January are now $159 for the same electronic device. This is one of the items I have been keeping an eye on looking for a sale and knowing what the old price used to be. At this rate things will be almost double by this time next year. The effect of this inflation is just starting to roll out. I watched a video last night talking about the last high inflation that we had back in the Carter days. While higher than what it is now (but not for long) one difference back then was the average American was getting a 7-8% raise yearly. This helped offset the high inflation back then. The difference now is not only do most American workers no longer receive a yearly raise, but studies are shown that their wages are being cut 3%. so ya this time it's going to be a different story for Americans.

Actually with commodities rolling over and recession setting in over the next few months, prices should start going the other way. There will be sales as companies need to offload their stuff. Especially in retail as companies over-ordered supply during the easy money printing time of the pandemic. When Americans can't afford to buy things, prices will come down. Demand destruction. This is just the start, it takes a little time to play out.

The four phases of the business cycle:

1. A peak is when business activity reaches a temporary maximum, unemployment is low, inflation high.

2. A recession is a decline in total output, unemployment rises and inflation falls.

3. The trough is the bottom of the recession period, unemployment is at its highest, inflation is low.

4. expansion (recovery) is when output is increasing, unemployment begins to fall and later inflation begins to rise.

I agree, that is what 's supposed to happen in a normal business cycle. But this is not a normal business cycle.

  1. Inject almost unlimited spent money. Not included what we will be giving Ukraine - Monthly? Weekly? Daily?

  2. China has a plan; they are destroying America from within. Companies like Blackrock and others will continue to stress America to its breaking point. This isn't the normal America anymore. Used cars shouldn't be worth more than new. Home prices shouldn't be what they are at. People think the opposite of how they should. Just take normal economics and toss it out the window, it will only be the opposite of how it should be.

  3. Look who is running this clown show. 🤡 This is the only line you need to focus on.

Sad truth is too many now live ways less than what used to be considered American and with values. I said this before. IN the past what worked is see recession, raise rates, people spend less and save more. Now all too many will still spend then cry and complain why things are the way they are while cashing in their welfare to go to the vape shop and tattoo parlor. Trash, the vast majoity of them. Crime will rise, living like that will increase and it's Robocop next.

Also, let's not forget how it goes. First a huge amount don't want to work and if and when they do say they don't make enough. YOU HAVE NO SKILLS! Anyway, oh yes lets raise rages...so prices have to also raise so in the end nothing changes. No what can change? Stop being a drain on society and get an actual skill required job. Plumber, welder, anything. Fast food never was and never will be to support a family with kids.

You want more hard hitting truth? I can go on and on about this overpopulated and ever increasing anti American, Anti authority anti work anti anything trend.

Lol talking about inflation, I just got this email from a company we purchase things through:

Not sure you have heard but there is a supply chain problem (insert eye roll)!

We have fought it as long as we can but with suppliers handing down price increases we are now forced to raise ours.  That may sound like an excuse but it's the reality of the supply chain right now.

If you have any outstanding bids with us we will look at those on a case-by-case basis.  If they are 6 months since the job was quoted we will have to requote but if it's been in a reasonable amount of time we will honor the price on the quote.

If you have any problems downloading the price sheet, call or email

I read that post on medium. I guess we have to wonder if we are an empire that lasts 1000 years like the Romans, or just meet the average of 250 years.

This has me thinking. I keep people saying "Watching the fall of Rome" online, and now it makes sense.
