What's new

Inflation & the upcoming recession

Yesterday when at Walmart, I went to pickup a one of my favorite bag of chips that used to be $3 for an 11oz bag. After the inflation period, it's now $4.50. Just yesterday, they had newer 10oz bags mixed with their older 11oz. I of course picked the 11oz knowing that next time it will only be the lesser 10oz sizes.

Home and auto insurance getting ridiculous.
All part of China's plan to squeeze us slowly to death. No one can afford a home anymore, soon people won't be able to afford a vehicle both in new and used vehicle costs, now tack on higher insurance on top of it.

Truthfully it won't stop people, people will just start to drive without insurance.

I've heard an increase of people around the country going without home insurance. Not a great idea lol.

are so many layoffs announced today I can’t even keep up on them all. What recession?

Got an email yesterday that Verizon is raising the price by $4/month per phone line.
One nice thing about T-mobile is they will never raise your rates, even if the government adds more taxes and fees in the future your bill is guaranteed to stay the same, also don’t forget the free Netflix and Hulu for free and other deals, that alone is worth some dollars especially since they raise their rates all the time as well. Let’s not forget the future Starlink incorporation. Looks like it’s time to make a switch @jmanz .

Quite the layoffs happening to the media companies yesterday (the needed it).

Not uncommon for business to announce layoffs like these early in the year. Last year was the same. The danger sign is when the layoffs continue into the middle of the year. Also will be interesting to see if AI starts to replace workers on a substantial basis.
