Let's talk Legos

We were out of town and went into a Target. Man did they ever have a good Lego selection. They had the Back to the Future, Optimus Prime and many other big Lego sets.
 
I picked up the Lego Bond car and also the car from Fast and the Furious for a couple kids in my son's class. Birthday gifts.
 
My daughter is starting to get back into Legos again (I love to see that). I looked at that price of the Optimus Prime Lego set, and that thing is WAYYY overpriced for what you are getting.

My son has this one that he got for a present a while back.  Too young to deal with Technic, but they put it together for him and gave it to him.  The wind-up drive on it can really move.  To the point that it's been wound up, let go and the crash resulted in pieces of the thing going flying off 🤣

well... it was from someone else, so I guess sure, maybe they just wanted to put it together and gave it away after.  Not that your scenario hasn't happened as well

 
With the annual Lego Star Wars promotion going on, I was tempted to order the new X-Wing set that launched on 5/1.  

 
I am always sad to see how overpriced Legos really are. I have seen some generic kits out there for a quarter of the price that Lego charges. Also, one more thing that always bothers me. Is why don't they make sure more interesting sets? I have seen some pretty awesome sets that I would shell out money for but they never make them.
