It will be interesting to see how the fed reacts to the market drop. In theory, a fast falling market would do some of the work for the fed. People losing money would produce the brake pumping which the fed wants to curtail inflation. Which could then produce a less hawkish fed (and prop up the market somewhat). Just one possibility, albeit fairly small.
Here's the thing. The country/world is so out of control. These things USED to work when majority of people actually lived life and worried about these things. Sad truth is way too many live in ways where selfish pleasure no matter the cost/debt has no meaning to them. It somehow doesn't bother them. They would rather be homeless as long as they can get their newest tattoo, largest cell phone with unlimted data, newest gaming console and computer, addictive habits like alocohol and nicotine and the list goes on. AM I wrong? I asked before how so many can want to live like this? Because they didn't want to listen to their out of tune parents or grandparents? I don't know man.
I hear you loud and clear. The money has to go somewhere though. Eventually, when things settle out, people will want to make a return on their money. Seems like many more investors nowadays compared to even a few years ago. Although the dumb Robinhood options traders might be licking their wounds for awhile.

Going through my old stocks to see how they are faring now. While most I am glad I got out of I had a bunch of shares that I purchased really cheap, and if I still had them a year later, I would had made some serious cash. That deserves a beer tonight.

Weekly outlook?

I think today will start off ok and look better by Wednesday it will start to collapse, by Friday be in flames.
Well it is fed day. 50 or 75? How hawkish of a tone? Get your popcorn ready!
I'm going to say they wimp out and do the small amount slowly. I'm a mean guy so I say they should say too bad losers, we are hitting it big. Just go all insane big jump now. The pain will be felt right away but the healing can start sooner rather than a slow painful torture before things get better.
I agree. Stocks would be angry short term but it would at least wash out the weak hands in the market.

Powell sounding pretty confident that they can navigate without causing a recession. Says 75bp hike is off the table but they won't hesitate to raise higher if they need to next time.

Also said that inflation is showing signs of leveling off. Not dropping but leveling. Market happy.
