I would consider one as a replacement to mine now. Not going to happen - regardless of if its electric or gas vehicle, but I would at least consider it.
It wouldn't' be the only vehicle in the family
It wouldn't be used for long trips.
Weather / road conditions are affected by other things, not the source of vehicle power
Infrastructure also a non-issue if you can charge at home and aren't making long trips.
If you have like a <60minute frequent commute or just drive around town, you are probably a huge target market for them. Easily within range and the per mile cost is much lower than gas.
I'd be replacing a vehicle that gets very few miles per month put on it. In ~15 years, I have under 55K miles on said vehicle. Other than the couple long trips it ever took, I could easily get by with an electric for daily stuff and would still have a gas SUV around for other trips.
I don't know if I'd do it, but worth consideration in some scenarios.
