The Great Insurance Rip-Off

You don't even want to talk to me about insurance right now.  I am getting a ton of medical bills from doctors in Miles City, Dickinson, and Bismarck.  All caused from my anxiety and the Chantix troubles.  Our insurance at work sucks balls.  I have met my deductible, but still they do not pay.  I don't understand it.  I need to quit my job and get on wellfare like all the other lazy people out there.  At least all my medical bills would be paid...

Our whole medical system is sad, most people know it's broken.  Our medical practice in this country financially benefits on the sicker people get rather than being healthy.  When money starts flashing in front of people with interests in corrupt practices, the take as much as they can get without a care of the other person.

One of the great things about Microsoft is their insurance benefits.  I don't even bother to look at all of the bills that come in because they are always paid.  A while back I too was having anxiety issues, and it was killing me in medical costs.  Once I started at Microsoft the insurance and medical costs went away.My wife had to go in for emergency surgery a few weeks back and it was all 100% covered.  All of the follow up appointments and blood work.  Covered.  I wish we could come up with something like this where everyone was covered...as long as it doesn't involve socialism.

For profit insurance companies suck balls!  They are a bane on society and health care.

What an interesting idea.  Paying insurance companies more money for having healthy, primary/preventive incentives.

Who said anything about paying insurance companies more money?  The healthier people are, the less resouces it will take caring for the sick.  This would not be an overnight fix, but I would like to see less say from insurance companies in what care people get (though they are pressured to pay as less as they can out, and even more so these days as obesity, diabetes, and heart diseases rise).Insurance companies act as a business and are about paying less out than they get to gain profits, but also becomes worse when CEO's and other upper management feel they need more money.

The idea is to have better incentives for doctors who take better care of patients to be healthy (seen more in Europe).  But in our system in America, I don't think this would be possible anytime soon.  This would most likely mean more control from the government, which people don't like as it breaks the free market position.  However, if done responsibly, which our government hasn't been too much of lately, we could correct our system for the better.

So explain this to me. What is the point of having some insurances? I mean some are worth it, but let's take my eye for example. At my old job I had 100% Blue Cross, Blue Shield for my vision. Now I no longer have vision, but it was still cheaper out of pocket to pay full price than to have insurance. What is the point. I have heard this before from my old vision provider. The lady said it's sometime cheaper without insurance. I paid about $200 less than not having insurance than when I did. Same stuff same brand of frames. It makes no sense.

They are screwing over insurance companies.  Boosting prices for those with insurance to get more from it.

I dunno what the cost of it is, but covers your yearly exams and such, also if something major happened it might be worth having
