What's new

Who here collects watches?

@jmanz asked me early how I am liking my watch. I am loving it, very happy with my purchase. I still have yet to charge it. I might use 1-2% of battery per day (and I play with it a lot since it's new). I have been downloading a lot of new watch faces lately as well. Each one makes it feel like a totally new watch. I highly recommend it.

I finally got around to charging my watch battery, I made it about a month. When I charged it, it took about 1.5 hours to full charge. So basically 30 days for a 1.5 hour charge. I can live with that. I absolutely love it.

Still loving this watch, I can go almost an entire month without a charge, also they just released more firmware updates that even improves the battery life even more. Plus, I love all the new watch faces they release all the time.

A coworker of mine ended up buying the same watch as me and loves it as well. He probably gets more use out of it than myself. I don't mess with all the sports modes, but he has. He also uses the sleep function which is pretty cool if you're into that stuff. I just talked to him about it this morning and asked how he is liking it and he loves it.

I must say still impressed with my T-rex2 watch. I took a hike with it today. The information you get from it is amazing. Plus, my last charge was 36 days ago, and still have 18% battery life remaining.

Strange, I thought I heard Rolex was doing bad due to the economy and no one wanting to spend money?

There's tons of money out there. But the divide between the have's and the havenot's has also never been greater.

So we went camping last night and it was the first time that I have worn my watch sleeping. The information it collected was spot on, everything from rem sleep to deep sleep to light sleep and even if you work up in the middle of the night. I have a coworker with the same watch as me and he was telling me about the sleep features and he was right, it is pretty neat.

My wife has been complaining about her iWatch lately, and how she can't even go through a day without it running out of battery. I made sure the other day it was updated to the latest firmware for her, but she is still complaining. I am thinking about picking her up the Amazfit Bip 6, since I have had such great luck with my Trex 2. In fact, I have been looking at the Trex 3 lately.

Well I picked up the watch in the past above, I have always wanted on since they released version one, this is version 3 now, and they have improved the solar tech quite a bit. As far as I know it's the only watch that has smart phone tech, that uses solar. As long as you get enough solar light per day, technically you never have to charge the battery.

The Garmin worked great today, I actually gained 2 days by just wearing it outside today. I don't feel like I was trying to force it or anything, just a sunny day and it soaked it up.

I think you picked up a good one. How come you got rid of the T-Rex?

Nothing wrong with it, amazing watch really. But since the Trex 3 came out they aren’t supporting it anymore (no more firmware updates) not that it needs anything but I just like updates. They still are slowly releasing watch faces for it. But I just like the idea of soaking up your own power, I know, I’m weird.

I was going to send my Garmin Solar Instinct 3 45mm and get the 50mm. I had already processed the return and had it boxed up, but then I saw last night the 50mm only comes in a grey color where the 45mm is in black, so I might keep it now.

I have been enjoying my watch more and more, I have slept with it on all night for the last two nights and the sleep records it keeps are great.

Also it seems by wearing it I might lose one day of battery one day and the next day I gain it back so I am just holding steady, I am not purposely keeping it in sunlight just daily normal wear.
