All things related to the Xbox platforms

Sold to the store or sold to the customer? Sorry couldn't resist.
Ha, to the customer. It's NDP results. Besides globally we know that currently Sony has sold more. It's a marathon though, not a sprint. Both have sold very well and have a pretty good sized install base in under 2 months on shelves. We all also know that its the smart people that have Xbox One's though :)

Microsoft has paid Machinima partners for positive influence about the console

This weekend, word started leaking of a new promotion offering Machinima video partners an additional $3 CPM (i.e., $3 per thousand video views) for posting videos featuring Xbox One content. The promotion was advertised by Machinima's UK community manager in a since-deleted tweet, and it also appears on Machinima's activity feed on Poptent, a clearinghouse for these kind of video marketing campaigns. The Poptent page also mentions an earlier campaign surrounding the Xbox One's launch in November, which offered an additional $1 CPM for videos "promoting the Xbox One and its release games."According to a leaked copy of the full legal agreement behind the promotion, video creators "may not say anything negative or disparaging about Machinima, Xbox One, or any of its Games" and must keep the details of the promotional agreement confidential in order to qualify for payment. In other words, to get the money, video makers have to speak positively (or at least neutrally) about the Xbox One, and they can't say they're being paid to do so.The arrangement as described might go against the FTC's guidelines for the use of endorsements in advertising, which demand full disclosure when there is "a connection between the endorser and the seller of the advertised product that might materially affect the weight or credibility of the endorsement."

... and EA has a similar deal in place that started coming out yesterday to. If they are a popular personality, you'd be a fool to think no one was paying for advertising. I'm betting there are other companies with contracts in place with these guys as well.

Back to things of relevance and worth discussion.

http://xboxie.com/ - these guys are keeping track of HTML5 gams that are playable on the Xbox One using the built in version of IE with a controller.

I've also seen that some say it works fine to launch other HTML5 games that don't work well with the controller, but then use SmartGlass from a phone or tablet to handle game control.

That was nice of them. I liked how he thought his wife got it for him. Hey I am your friend I could use one @@ndboarder ;)
Well, if you ever actually played on the Xbox you might have a chance. The guy got it because his friend upgraded, missed playing with him and new he couldn't afford to get one. In your case if I get on the xbox and saw you online it would be more of a surprise. I'll tell you what though, send me $479.99 + 7.5% and I'll send you one eventually. Either whenever we finally have the in stock at work or the next time I see one at Costco.

Another troll pops up. People will soon learn if someone's GT starts with the word Xbox that they should not say it out loud most likely.

Why doesn't it disable voice commands or at least have the option to in games? I mean you can disable the "Windows" key on a keyboard so if you accidentally hit it while gaming it doesn't dump you to your desktop.

Well, you could turn the Kinect off I suppose, that's easy enough. Not sure if it would do the trick, as I think the Xbox One can receive voice commands through the headset if you have it on as well. I haven't really looked for a disable voice command option, as the only time I would be talking to players would be to friends if I was in a party playing online.
