For fast food I think it is a horrible idea. For appetizers at a bar, its a great idea. For orders at a sit down place where I have to listen to a person who has forgotten the specials, or I have to sit through a pretentious atmosphere I think its great, because it minimizes the interaction.
For the record, I like sandwiches, and sit down restaurants. The only fast food place that has anything going for it is Culvers.

I saw that on reddit.com. I was gonna post it and add: "I'm sorry Dave, I can't add fries with that" on Facebook but it was acting wonky.

You'd think that the human race would invent robots for the good of all human kind to reduce our work hours and have robots provide most the necessities for humans rather than replacing us and still having the old system of working 40 hours or more to make ends meet.
Cameras everywhere.Airport workers seem grumpy. Also keep in mind while a computer system may need to be secure, it doesn't require background checks, or clearances. Computers don't call in sick, need vacations and don't need to be trained. Computers don't have children in daycare and their cars don't break down.At LaGuardia Airport they replaced all their minimum wage cashiers with machines.
As citizens enjoying the benefits of society, we should hope that we can live in trust and freedom. I challenge you to look at the picture again. That is picture is safety, security, trust and freedom. Clearly its commercialism, capitalism and takes advantage of impulse buys, but its those other things too.
Work is work, and a person shouldn't be ashamed to work anywhere. If a person can work a cashier, they can also do other works. Its not like your local school fired the art teacher.
This is what I said when we argued about this before. Am I in favor of replacing humans? No but unskilled workers are not worth $15 an hour. I don't care about the cost of living. My parents never made much and raised 5 children and I worked many years for minimum wage without complaining. That was $5.15 an hour.
Oh yeah I forgot to add in the now essential tattoos, video games, beer, booze, cigarettes, drugs, boats, trucks, fancy cars, highest end cell phone....... people live beyond their means, abuse government hand outs(government is dump for giving anything out to begin with) and you want my sympathy? Sure not all do but the majority do and ruins it for all.I will add just like the last time we argued this, I do feel sorry for the few that are on hard times and getting screwed by the rising costs of living and are doing their best to survive. I don't give a damn for the ones that fall under the comments I listed above.
