What's new

All things related to the Sony Playstation platforms

I can’t believe what a new tv makes. I was playing my PS5 on a 1080p monitor before. Went to 4k plus everything maxed HDR etc. It blows your mind how good it looks. Also I’m able to enable the 3D audio where Sony bounces the sound off your walls and tailors it to your room. Amazing!

with sony, wake me up when we get a new twisted metal or a completely remade original jak and daxter. the remaster is nice but not full HD/textured

Ya I agree with @C Pav that is way too much. It's a video game console not a full-blown PC. Here are the changes:

  • Upgraded GPU: With PS5 Pro, we are upgrading to a GPU that has 67% more Compute Units than the current PS5 console and 28% faster memory. Overall, this enables up to 45% faster rendering for gameplay, making the experience much smoother.
  • Advanced Ray Tracing: We’ve added even more powerful ray tracing that provides more dynamic reflection and refraction of light. This allows the rays to be cast at double, and at times triple, the speeds of the current PS5 console.
  • AI-Driven Upscaling: We’re also introducing PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-driven upscaling that uses a machine learning-based technology to provide super sharp image clarity by adding an extraordinary amount of detail.
My only worry is now I wonder if the original PS5 will get crippled with the new games being made for the new system's specs.

I don’t know if I can visually see a difference. I think I’ll save myself a few hundred dollars.
